We’re always looking for ways to create a unique, enjoyable experience for customers visiting our physical store and website alike. With that in mind, our site is just a bit different from other online record stores (or many online stores) you may be used to. In this (developing) article, I’m attempting to explain some of our site’s features…

Product Collections

Our products are sorted into groups called “collections,” which are listed to the left (i.e. “New Arrivals”, “Records”, “Rock/Pop”, etc). We use collections to organize products by general product type, breaking down music further by genre collections. With this system, products can be added to more than one collection, instead of being tied down to one category. This allows for better organization, and is meant to help you quickly find what you’re looking for.

Product Tags

We use non-hierarchical keywords (better known as “tags”) to label products with common attributes. For example, all new products are tagged with “new”, all LPs are tagged with “LP”, etc. Tags are listed at the top of each collection page, displaying the general attributes of products within that collection. Use this to filter down collections to what you’re looking for (e.g. if you’re looking for new limited edition LPs, you would click on “Records” then click select “New” then “Limited Edition” then “LP” from the tag list.
